Deep Sea Fishing Club

The Villages, Florida

Celebrating 30 years of service

These pictures are of some recent catches by members of the club on club organized fishing expeditions. Most of these catches are from the Gulf but a few are from boats on the Atlantic.

A Villages Lifestyle Club

The Deep Sea Fishing Club is a completely volunteer operated club, that strives to provide salt water fishing opportunities to its members. The club organizes and offers charter trips from experienced, licensed fishing guides, primarily in the local area. While most of the trips launch from locations within a 1 to 2 hour radius of The Villages, some offerings do originate from more distant locations.

Join us on June 1st. for the monthly meeting, featuring an exciting presentation by Captain Fred Pharis of 2 Lagoon Charters. With over 30 years of experience fishing the Indian River and Mosquito Lagoons—two of the most biologically diverse estuaries in the region—Capt. Pharis will share insights into their outstanding year-round inshore fishery.

Discover a fantastic fishing opportunity just over an hour from The Villages. This fishery is "catch and release," which offers a pure sport fishing opportunity for Red Fish and other species.

See you on June 1st!

The clubs next meeting is Monday June 1st. Doors open at 6PM, meeting starts at 6:30. See you there.

Our Meetings

The club meets on the first Monday of every month. Our meetings are normally held at the Everglades Recreation Center, 5497 Marsh Bend Trail, in Wildwood, Florida. The doors open at 6PM and the meeting starts at 6:30PM. Between 6 and 6:30 you can browse the available fishing trips at the tables in the back of the room, talk with the coordinators, and sign up for a trip of your choice.

Membership

Membership in the club is open to all Villages residents. Membership
dues are $10 per year. As a member you can sign up for fishing trips and invite guests to join you on the trip. You can become a member by signing up at the membership desk at each meeting or by filling out the membership form available here and bringing it to the meeting.

Going Fishing

The Club's Board and Fishing Coordinators devote many hours each month to arrange fishing trips through our vetted guides, sign up members for the trips, answer your questions, then manage the necessary actions to ensure that the trips are fulfilled. Often times the guests on the trips may not know each other, so the coordinators try to arrange car pools so that everyone doesn't have to drive to the launch site separately. This not only reduces the cost of taking the trip but also allows members who are unable to drive, for whatever reason, to participate in the club trips.
